Salvete, friends,

I would suggest that this may depend on what each of us considers rewarding. Those of us that find pleasure in helping others get started would be the very best ones to take on the mentor role. I would not want someone to feel forced to help me.

In the reenacting world, it seems about half of us truly enjoy nourishing other peoples' interests, and the other half prefer more of an "immersion" environment where teaching is not required. These do not seem mutually exclusive, in my view. You just need to find the right people for each.

Vale bene,
Aurelia
