Fortunately you live in Texas. You can go to LibraryofTexas.com and find
these, along with nearly any other book, article, etc.. Loging in as a
Georgetown Public Library user I entered ti="Six Thousand Years of Bread"
and I found:

and searching ti=food history and au=Tannahill located:

Both are at UT among other places. Using my TexShare card (free at your
local public library branch) I can go to UT and borrow these books, or I can
request it via ILL at my local library branch (some shipping charges may apply).
Library of Texas also provides links to AddAll.com where you can find the
best new or used prices for these books. Abebooks shows "Food in History"
for $4.25 plus 2.50 shipping to Texas. Half.com has the "Six Thousand"
title for $35.00 plus $3.25 shipping.
Are you using LibraryofTexas.org yet? Why not? Who do you think I built it
for? "Adult learners with diverse information needs." is just a
code-phrase. :)
