"Good news!  It had a blown head gasket!"  Well, yes, it could be
worse for me -- it could have had a cracked head too, I could have
gotten ebola from your drinking fountain, or whatever.  But mostly
it's good news for you, Mister Firestone, getting your week's wages
from me in one day, adding to it my paying for new hoses and belts and
radiator cap and thermostat and radiator flush and transmission fluid,
so I paid for about 40% of the cost of a decent used car in just the
last two weeks ...

Oh, was I ranting?  Sorry.  Anyway.  My car has no obvious leaks of
fluid from under the engine, which is an improvement, and it has not
actually burst into flames or anything, though the strong burning
rubber smell under the hood is making me worried all over again, and
I've taken the box of heraldry books out ...

Ahem.  Anyway.  My thanks to Sosha, Alasa, and Elwyn for their
generous offers of rides to Kingdom Dance, and if I'm not there by
10:30 or so, look for a tall column of smoke to the southwest.
