[Bryn-gwlad] Summer A & S Faire

Attention to the Artisans and Crafts Persons of the Barony of Bryn Gwlad!

In is summer again and once again time to share with our fine Barony all the
wonderful things that you have created.

We will choose a populace favorite, but I would like to encourage the
populace to keep in mind the following ideas when choosing their favorites:

·        Appropriateness of Materials

·        Original or Reproduction

·        Complexity/Difficulty

·        Workmanship

·        Authenticity of Entry

·        Overall Impression

Please note that this is an encouragement, and not a requirement.  If you
like the fuzzy wubby because it is your favorite shade of blue, then that is
your favorite.  Of course, if the fuzzy wubby has documentation that
explains that it is a period version of some stuffed animal, hand stitched
from thread made from linen grown and spun by the artist, then it will be my
favorite as well.  :)

I would also like to encourage that our artists provide documentation.  This
can be as simple as a picture from a book that your work is inspired by.  If
you would like something a little more detailed, but do not know where to
start, check out the Drachenwald Minimum Documentation form at:
http://www.drachenwald.sca.org/Arts/judgingcriteria.html.  Of course, if you
have extensive research and documentation, please feel free to bring that as
well, but know that it is not required.

Vilhiálmr Vetr is hosting a Youth Prize for children less than 13 years of
age.  The theme will be "playthings of the middle ages" and the prize will
fit that theme.

I will be offering a prized for the best adult entry for Medieval Games as
well, and since we all like to play, share your games. I would like to thank
Mistress Brynhildr and Vilhiálmr for the fabulous idea.

Where:  Populace in the Park

Please note that this is an outdoor space and you will need to bring your
own display tables, stands, etc.
