I do not have his e-mail but you might want to track down Master Leon 
Dunne.  He made a long bow and used it.  He isn't as active as he used to 
be in the past but he does make it to events.

The other person you might be able to get assistance from is Master Iolo 
FitzOwen who works with crossbows.  He string his own and may have a source 
for thread.

Somebody out there probably have their e-mail addresses.

I have found linen thread in leather companies.
