[Bryn-gwlad] Queen's Champion....anyone?

Hey there SCA family,
 
Ok Q&A time for the new girl.......I got the note about Queen's  Champion, 
and of course I want to go!!  A big ol tourney and then a masked  ball 
afterwards?!?!  FUN FUN FUN!!  Sooooo.....
 
1)  How come I only see rapier fighting mentioned here??  Surely  the 
heavy-weapons folks get to fight, too, right?
 
2)  Is this a camping event?  Ive heard that day-tripping in  Ansteorra is 
like sunshine and clear skies year round in An Tir.....it just  doesn't 
happen.....?
 
3)  Is anyone else planning to go that might want to carpool?  I  can seat 
four comfortably and the truck gets pretty good gas milage (made it  from San 
Diego to downtown LA on a quarter of a tank of gas....haHA!)
 
4)  Is anyone interested in maybe having a Mask-making get-together  
pot-lucky sort of thing?  Everyone bring their stuff and a food thing to  
share......and we make masks and maybe watch some cool medieval-lookin'  movies and have a 
good time.  Anyone?
 
I have to say I REALLY appreciate all the kindness and hospitality that has  
been shown to me.....you guys are just amazing!!
