Nope. Queen's Champion was started by HRM Jocelyn, Ansteorra's second 
Queen, as a showcase for rapier fighters. There have only been two Queen's 
Champion Tournaments (HRM Karlanna I and II) that included the armored folks.

Day-tripping is a personal-choice kind of thing. In the past, almost all of 
our events were camping events, or else folks stayed with friends nearby. 
Over the past five or ten years there has been a growing trend to stay at 
hotels or day-trip (this may be due to the fact that fewer of us are 
starving college students or broke just-marrieds, and now we can *afford* 
to stay at a hotel, or prefer to sleep in our own beds instead of on 
someone's floor.)
