Sir Gideon (sp?),
  I saw you had mentioned attatching a aventail to a helm, were you also installing a liner? Someone had asked me were I got my linning material and I cann't remember who it was. I used flax linen at sir Gastons suggestion and I was very happy with it. I could not find any locally, but I did find a great source to order it, you need about 3 bags per helm. I used the combed flax tops.
