[Bryn-gwlad] Yule Revel December 16th - Help Needed

Ysabeau,
We have used the fireplace in the past, and it is sometimes unused because we have to bring our own firewood. It is against state park regulations to gather wood from any of the state parks for the purposes of burning it - so someone with a "real" fireplace will to raid their personal supply or the barony will have to purchase wood.
Also, per SCA policy, if we do have a fire in the fireplace, there will need to be a fire extinguisher provided (the park does not supply one - at least the time or two I have looked in the building I could not find one). As far as children go - that's what parents are for (speaking as a dad of a nearly 2-year old).

Greetings all!
I've sent out requests to my family down near the King and Kennedy ranches to see if they can come up with a horse skull we can borrow/have (not sure if/why they would want it back).
Is the fireplace a working fireplace? I know we haven't had fires there in the past but I wasn't sure if it was a safety issue or a fireplace issue. If I remember correctly, the fireplace is pretty open and could be an attractive hazard to the little ones of the group.

Thank you to those of you who have responded to help with the Yule Revel December 16th at Beuscher State Park.
We know have a plow thanks to Brynhildr, a volunteer to make treacle toffee (Dreda) and a potluck coordinator (Goldweard).
There was a question about whether we'll have a Yule Log - Goldweard has a period charm that can be put on it. Anyone interested in taking on the Yule Log?
For other tasks requiring assistance, please see below:
Site Set-up and Take Down Assistance - Tasks include
setting up chairs and tables needed at the site and
decorating the hall (mostly festooning walls with
garlands, etc.) Later, taking it all down.
Gate Coordinator - While there is no gate fee for this
event, we need someone who would be willing to recruit
staff and oversee people signing in at the door.
Wassail Bowl - Need someone willing to make a Wassail
bowl and know the traditions that go with it to lead
the rest of us through it.
Father Christmas - Anyone have a period St Nicholas
outfit? Here is your chance to play Father Christmas
at the event.
Toasted Bread and Cheese - anyone willing to provide Toasted
bread and cheese for the event?
The Mari Lwyd (the old gray mare) is likely to visit
and demand entrance to the hall - will the Baron be
able to keep it away with puns and insults? By the
way, does anyone out there have a horse's skull we can
use?
If you have a favorite Welsh Christmas tradition you'd
like to introduce at this event please let us know.
