[Bryn-gwlad] Armouring night Thursday: spaulders

It may be because of the recent popularity of pole arm
fighting in our barony, but there's been some interest
lately in making shoulder protection.  To address that
need I'd like to focus on producing spaulders based on
Prince Edward's  (the Black Prince) effigy.  You can

They're simple, light and fairly easy to make.  I'd
like to build them out of 4130, which is a hardenable
spring steel, and should be even easier to shape. 
Making them will give you some experience with
cutting, grinding, dishing, heat treating and
polishing.  If you have work gloves, eye and ear
protection please bring it.
