Girl, 9, dies after being struck by car

November 15, 2006 —A 9-year-old girl died after being struck by a car shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 100 near Los Fresnos.

Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Johnny Garcia said the girl ran onto the roadway and was struck by the car.

He said he could not release the make and model of the car, the name of the girl or the name of the person operating the car.

Garcia said the case remains under investigation.
