[Bryn-gwlad] Question on a Guild

My brother has been a professional jeweler for more than 30 years. He
"retired" to blacksmithing a few years ago but still works for jewelry
manufacturers during the holidays and other crunch times. Anyway, the
point is that he would probably be willing to come teach for an evening
sometime (after Christmas, of course). So if you do form a guild and
this sounds interesting, let me know so I can talk to him about it. BTW,
he is also somewhat familiar with historical re-creation and the history
of jewelry so he will understand our goals.
One subject that is very hard for most jewelers is finish work. It makes
the difference between something that looks like it was cobbled together
in someone's garage and a piece that looks professional (or for our
purposes, authentic). This is one of his specialties. He could teach a
more general class or a beginner's class, of course, but I think the
most benefit would come from a class on finishing.
