Glad Greetings One & All,
What a great event! And the weather was absolutely glorious!
It was an almost perfect weekend!
There are many, many people whose efforts helped make
our activites so enjoyable! Many thanks to Don Avery for
his vision of this Baronial Hunt & Harvest Faire, and ALL who
helped him create this event. Many thanks also to Master Pug
and all who helped him prepare and serve a fabulous feast!
Many, many thanks to all those who worked long hours
securing the safety of the road, and those who worked
at the Gate. Thanks to all of the excellent heralds throughout
the weekend. Thanks to the marshals, the list mistresses,
the waterbearers, and our baronial officers. Much praise to
the many hands who worked behind the scenes to get everything
set up and decorated, and then later for taking everything down.
Everyone's efforts made a big difference.
Although Duke Patrick & Duchess Julia were unable to attend
due to a unforeseen conflict, Duke Hoegaarden graciously
consented to be our visiting nobleman for the day. Thanks
to our archery, boffer and chivalric competitiors: it was
great to see your skill and style on the field, and it was
thrilling to watch the finalists in the martial court.
Much praise must be also offered to our many beasts
of the wood on Saturday and on Sunday! Wonderful!
Many thanks to those who created prizes and largesse
for this occasion: Baroness Kezia created a beautiful
cloak for our new chivalric champion and Master Peter
created a splendid arrowhead medallion for our champion
of the bow. Lord Wilhelm etched special glasses for the
Baron's personal champion of the day. The Herbalist Guild
also created soaps & lotions for our outgoing champions
as well as gifts for the Crown.
Thanks to the Scribal Guild for their efforts, and to
the Baronial Guard for their service to Bryn Gwlad.
My personal thanks to the members of my entourage
who took such great care of me, and also helped create
many of the insignia and other items for the court.
And we are forever grateful to Don Shamino for sharing
his beautiful village (and his tavern) with all of us.
What a great event! What a great barony!
Myself as Witness,
Thomas
