The competition was run very well and the format was outstanding, including combat archery in there was a good idea. I am not sure how it was arranged that the sky would open up when the combat portion too place since that must have taken a lot of coordination. Something to consider if you want to get them out of the rain soon is put a pointy hat in top of the target for motivation.

I'm sorry that you got this miscommunication. I tried to be as clear as I
could in my missives in the Blackstar and on-line that it was target archery
although one round is usually done with combat equipment. We don't post the
specifics of the rounds in order to make sure the archers are not practicing
to get an advantage.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the format that Christoforo and I managed to squeeze
out. We had limited equipment to work with, but for good diversity and a
challenging shoot you don't need a lot.

Robin is good about teaching that to any who asks, as are many others. Before
the shoot we also had some impromptu inspection classes for those present who
voiced interest in becoming target archery marshals. Unfortunately we didn't
have time to run them through their paces because of the need to focus on the
tournament.

Ciao,
Pug
