Funny that this should come up now.......I watched a show last night,
CSI:New York.   This episode had a man who was part of a group of people
who were dying from some disease and they all made a pact to die the way
'they' wanted to, not because the disease was making them die.  They
wanted to die on their own terms.

Well one of them was dressed in full armor and went jousting in Central
Park late at night with a counterpart and to make a long story short, he
ended up impaled on the lance which....broke.  :P

I actually have a broken handle from Lysts last year that I could offer
up, but want some additional information first. ;-)

Problem with this request is that while we intentionally break the tips,
and we sometimes accidentally crunch the tubes, we almost never break a
handle.  So a broken lance isn't as simple as it sounds.  Most folks
will be loath to give up a handle as that is the part that talks the
real work to build.  They might be better off just inventing a broken
lance that looks like one from period...
