You have my simpathy here, I have retired from Law Enforcement and found that it did good for me to have my "solo time" at events and get into my persona and forget about my mundane life. The thinking everyone is "up to no good" became an everyday part of my life so much that it effected my marriage, so the event release was very good for me.

Also I tend to be kinda not sure what they call it...but want to do it
'right' ie period camp gear, etc and since I am not much of a spectator,
need stuff to keep me busy (still finances preventing the switch gear from
heavy to light). I like helping out and stuff...but I have a tendancy to
fizzle out and will push myself even if too tired. If I cannot fight and
'play' / or help out when I can get of my butt and show up, feel like day is
wasted....

Period Encampment is fun and it helps my dream become more real for me.....There is always something to work on to make it better :)\ Finances can be fun at best when trying to transition, the only advice I have for this is to be patient and get it one piece at a time.......The day is not wasted if you are there, live the moment and enjoy the time you have at the event.

Then been personally snipped by some other Japanese persona SCAer belive
it or not, hurt my feelings...you wouldn't think that possible with me eh?
Would think how rare we are we would be more friendly to each other...

If someone snubs you because they think they are better than you and it bothers you.....charge them rent for the space they are renting in your head by letting it bother you......Everyone plays at what level they can afford or are comfortable playing, and no one should feel they have the right to criticize someone else for not playing at their level, it is rude and unchivalrous. Just play your persona to the best of your ability and try not to let what others say bother you.
