I was so impressed that I got my kids signed up for the yule exchange in
time. We've been embroidering and shopping and should be ready. My problem is
that my youngest has grown out of the only thing she had that worked for SCA
events and we still haven't tackled sewing anything on our own. If anyone
has loaner garb, we'd love to come and visit you in the next week. She is 12
and wears a very large child's size or a small women's.

I'd also like to send along one or both of my parents so that they can see
what these events are like.(They'll be here from Virginia) They've been
scavenging for appropriate dinnerware, etc. so that my children will be ready for
events, but they still don't really get what it is all about. At this point,
I have no adult clothing so I'm going to have to come up with something so
that someone can take them. If it is motivation to anyone, my father loves to
take pictures and will come and photograph the whole event for you, bring a
tripod, whatever. He's an amateur but loves it.

If anyone takes pity on me and has loaner garb we could borrow, please
e-mail me directly or call me at 238-8179
Thanks so much!!!!!! This time of year is already so stressful, I can't
begin to think of sewing an entire outfit in the next week!

Also, I'm a bit confused about the Norse thing. Is everyone supposed to be
dressed from that time period and that local??
Tara de Cardenas
(Mundane name. I keep waiting for my 13 year old - who is the historian and
driving force behind our attendance - to decide on her persona so that we
can be a family.)
