[Bryn-gwlad] New to your Barony

When my wife and I were moving, we did a lot of research on neighbor
hoods, 

School rating, crime rates, etc.

 

There are a lot of the links here, I don't' know if any of them are
stale, but they might help.

The Traffic in Austin is kind of bad, so if you can, try to live near
where you work.

 

In particular, the two main North South routes  I35, and Mopac (also
called Loop 1) are ugly during rush hour

 

There is a new Toll way sh130 which is nice if you are going north south
and you are near to it.

 

Aside from that, I believe in the theory, that if you pick a
neighborhood on how well the schools do and the 

Respective crime rates you'll do pretty well.

Greetings All,

 

     My name is Pasha Starling Mayfaire and I come from The Barony of
ArnHold in the Kingdom of Artemisia.  My husband (Eric the Rabbit) & I
are planning a move to the Austin area, and in doing some research I
found this mailing list along with other information regarding your fair
Barony.   

 

     Eric and I have been active in The Society for many many years and
are both excited to be venturing to a brand new area.  Neither of us
have been to Austin before so it's a wholly new adventure.  We am
looking forward to meeting you and experiencing the wonders that
Bryn-gwlad has to offer. 

 

     I would like to ask a favor.  Since your home is completely
unfamiliar to us I would be so very very grateful for any information
that any of you would be able to impart regarding Austin.  We are
currently trying to narrow down areas to shop for a house.  So I am
totally at a loss regarding neighborhoods, schools, commutes, etc etc.
If any of you have time and would be kind enough to give me the skinny I
would love you forever and perhaps bribe you with silk or maybe cookies.
