Enter "100 congress ave, Austin 78701" and zoom out several times. You'll 
see support for my earlier statement that west Austin is the place to 
be--vis-a-vis avoiding sex offenders, anyhow!

I would agree with Dan'l that the Far West area feels fairly safe, with the 
exception of some property crime around the larger apartment complexes. Just 
a few streets north or south of that area is safer still.
