Hays county has some great schools throughout. More rural and more of a
bedroom community south of Austin. Buda is closest to Austin and Kyle
is not far. Both have a fairly easy commute to the airport that avoids
both toll roads and the worst of the rush hour traffic going that way.
The neighborhoods are nice though many do have HOAs.
They are no further from where stuff happens than Cedar Park and Leander
are at the north end of Austin.
Hays county is also on the way to San Antonio if you ever wanted to do
gigs in that direction on occasion. They would be an easy day trip from
that area. I live in Buda. I'd be happy to discuss the Pros and Cons.
This area has a Barony in San Antonio (Bjornsborg) A Shire in San Marcos
(Ffynnon Gath) The Barony in Austin (Bryn Gwlad) and is near a Barony in
Waco (Emerald Keep) but they are in the next SCA Region. All of these
may be found along I-35. There is also the Shire of Tir Medoin in
Rockdale near Austin. This is an active a region and we all play well
and often with each other.
We look forward to meeting you. Let us know when you will be in the
area and we will also point you to any local events happening. You can
also check the local calendar on the Baronial Web page to see what's up
when in the local area.
