[Bryn-gwlad] Baronial Guard at Yule Revel

Greetings Guardsmen

 

Dec 15 Sat, is our Baronial Yule Revel. 

 

Guards, candidates and anyone interested in the Guard should plan to
show up to site about 10AM.  We will have two hours of drill practice in
the parking lot before site opens. This may be the only one we have
before Candlemas so each of you needs to be there and on time.

 

The hall will open about noonish so we will be there to help with set
up, bring a sack lunch or make a quick run for fast food.

 

You will need to be in full uniform for the revel. Wear what you will
for drill and set up.

 

During the revel we will have a guard advancement ceremony in which we will

advance Sophie to full guard status. We may be able to induct a new
candidate at that time and some other surprises.

 

We will also participate in the court Thomas will hold that evening. So
be prepared to help with set up for that and to stand guard during that
time.

 

I will try to schedule the guard ceremony outside of the times scheduled
for the metal knitting class, the rapier activities and maybe even
around the other activities taking place. Be prepared to be flexible and
listen for the call to assemble.

 

Guards and candidates should plan to stay to assist with clean up as
well. I know some of you will have to leave to get to work, the rest of
us will continue with clean up.

 

And don't forget to bring your Potluck dish as well!

 

I expect to see you all there. Please respond to me directly if you
cannot be there.
