I live just north of Georgetown, have 22 acres and know that there are several places for sale in the area and the Georgetown Schools are excellent. And being a retired Law Officer from Williamson County, they do take a dim view of the criminal element. Toll Road 130 now goes from Georgetown to Hwy 71 in South Austin. I work at Mopac and Parmer and it takes me 25 minutes to get to work using the tolls and 45 minutes if I don't, an hour if traffic on 35 is backed up.
If I may be of assistance in any way please let me know

You also might want to look in the Hutto area. I have some co-workers that have some homes out there with some land. Again, as Eule stated, you are looking at a drive to get to the center of Austin, I am not sure if that is a big deal for you. But if I am not mistaken you can get onto the toll road in Hutto now. Don't quote me on that, though.

There are many places around the outer edges of the great Austin area
where your neighbors *can* be at least out of arrow range. My lady and
I live out in the country near Leander and have room around us (most of
the lots in our neighborhood are at least a few acres). These types of
places can easily be found in the area but you do have to spend a bit
more time looking.
With the toll roads opened up in this area, it takes only about 30
minutes to get to the center of activity in Austin (used to take about
50). That's about the same amount of time it takes from
Georgetown...actually a bit less since the traffic is heavier during
rush hour on I-35.
