Tea did not begin to appear in Europe until the end
of the 16Th century and it's popularity caught on
later throughout Europe.

Within period various herbs were made into drinks for
culinary purposes. most commonly roses, chamomile,
and mint. Though we now refer to them as tea, tea is
specific to certain leaves (Camellia sinensis). and
technically herbal teas are a misnomer.
