[Bryn-gwlad] Middle Eastern Drum Guild to Consider Re-Opening

Welcome back after the holiday madness, everyone!

I got a decent, though not overwhelming, response to the letter quoted below. Based on that, and the fact that hopefully the mundane distractions of the season are over (and my own foremost among them), I've decided to give the old MEDG a test run for a few months.

So if you were one of those people that wrote to me and said "That sounds like fun to me!", here's your chance to show you meant it!

With Candlemas and Queen's coming up, I know time will begin to get tight again, so I'm going to hold the first new meeting as soon as possible... which would be THIS Sunday, yay! So if you are interested in Middle Eastern drumming, please be at the Wells Branch Rec Center from 4pm to 6pm, preferably with a drum if you have one, or you can steal Isabelica's clever idea and use a large butter tub or tupperware just to get your hands used to the motions and rhythms.

And now, the abbreviated version of the above message for those who skim for content:

  MIDDLE EASTERN DRUM GUILD
  THIS SUNDAY, 4-6PM
  WELLS BRANCH REC CENTER
BE THERE OR WEEP WITH REGRET

  Yours in (humor and) service,
   -C

Now that yours truly has survived both the election season and the first half of the holiday season, I am entertaining the idea of resuming the MEDG weekly practice sessions.

My mundane distractions were half the problem. The other half was lack of participation. For that reason, I'm asking anyone who is interested in the drum and who might be interested in practicing said drum every other Sunday to please write to me, off-list, and let me know of your interest. Additionally, if you are interested but our previous practice time was not conducive to your participation, feel free to let me know that as well, and if enough people are in the same boat, I will consider making a schedule adjustment.
