Your excellency,
I'd like to get to know the baronial awards a bit
better, and it's likely the discussion would be of
interest to others.
It's clear to me that The Cross Fleury is a martial
award, but I'm having trouble gaging the level of
prowess required. All the names I recognize are
Centurions, dons and knights. I understand it's
difficult to quantify, but how good a fighter does
someone need to be to worthy of this award? Is it
really about individual ability or does melee prowess
or war leadership count? Are archers eligible?
The three baronial service orders got me curious.
I'll leave their descriptions from the web page below
for easy reference, but what would qualify someone for
one of these awards over another. The wording implies
there's a good, better, best thing going on. Is that
how others see the awards?
Regards,
Gaston de Clermont
The Order of the Halberd
The ancient and honorable Order of the Halberd of Bryn
Gwlad was our baronys first service order, and has
many distinguished members. Many have moved to other
regions, some are inactive, and some are gone forever.
The Order of the Dreigiau Bryn
The Order of the Dreigiau Bryn of Bryn Gwlad
recognizes outstanding service and dedication to our
barony. Members of this order represent some of our
history and our hope.
The Golden Martlet
The Golden Martlet award is a non-armigerous award to
honor service to our barony.
