The seniors at Minersville Area High School (in Pennsylvania) have
researched and built replicas of four medieval artifacts in the last
few years:

a 21-foot cargo boat found with the Gokstad ship (late-ninth-century
Norway) <http://www.angelfire.com/pa/mhsviking/>

a two-wheeled horse-drawn cart pictured in the Lutrell Psalter
<http://www.geocities.com/mahsmedievalcartproject/>, and

two seven-and-a-half-foot sleds, one found with the Gokstad ship and
one in the Osberg burial (early-ninth-century Norway)

When they finished the work, they donated the completed replicas to
museums.

Kinda makes me feel guilty about screwing together the little "Viking
chest" I'm making for Áed because "it takes more specialized knowledge
than I have time to acquire right now" to do it the right way. . .
