Monday's business meeting is the deadline for applications for the post
of Chronicler to the Barony of Bryn Gwlad. A couple of people have
contacted me to ask questions about the job, but nobody's actually
stepped up to say (s)he wants it yet.

This position does NOT require you to be an expert in the S.C.A.
(though it will help you learn more about the Society, if you do it
well). It also doesn't require you to write the entire newsletter
yourself. (In fact, over the last few months, I've only been writing
the Focus--which is fun, and I think a good feature, but not required
to be continued by the new Chronicler--and some of the short "general
announcement" articles. The rest of the content has been submitted by
others in the barony, and only edited and laid out by me.)

My successor should have plenty of time to ask questions and work out
the details of her or his plans before starting the job. (S)he's
expected to take office at the beginning of September, making the
October issue of the "It Cometh" her or his first.

If you're even toying with the idea of applying to be Chronicler,
please visit my website
<http://b-b-fam.home.texas.net/BrynGwladChronicler/> and read about
what's involved. Really consider the position. If you're up for the
challenge, apply! (Details on how to do so are on the site.) It's an
excellent opportunity to serve the Barony, motivation to get to know
people, and a chance to communicate your enthusiasm about the things
you love about the Society to others.

Remember, we HAVE to have a Chronicler to stay a Barony. (The Shire of
Bryn Gwlad? Ridiculous!)

I'm available to answer more questions, as need be. Don't hesitate to
ask.
