I made a pachisi game as largesse for a Baronial Championship many moons
ago, It was a cloth "board" that I embroidered and the pieces were wooden
discs, as I recall and the dice were 6 cowrie shells...really quite lovely,
if I may say so myself.  You folded the board over the pieces and then
rolled it up and tied it.  I wish I'd taken a picture of it before I gave it
away.  I still have the pattern for the board, though...oh and I had Marcus
callig the rules on a piece of parchment that was rolled up in side it, too.
