The Histroy Channel did a special on it...talked about the training and 
armor of the Spartans vs the Persians...also said was one of the key reasons 
Spartan and Athens eventually became "the Greek", even though the Persians 
did all that, the Persdians never could retake those properties after they 
were pushed out....something like that...they prob gonna re air it couple 
times...

The 300 Spartans didn't just hold up the Persian Army,they destroyed the
1,000,000 man Persian Army (each Spartan soldier effectively "defeated"
3,333 men each) and in doing so ended the war. I think this would qualify
as bringing vistory to their side. Otherwise the Greek nation would more
than likely have been crushed.
