Well, I'd dig up Lenin, but he'd be kind of yucky by now (or is he still
preserved in Moscow).  Perhaps linen will do.

 

On a brighter note, If you need costumey-type classes down the road, I'd be
glad to teach a trim class or something on hats.

You may use what ever type of fabric you wish to use. This was not indicated
as a period process. Several ladies had expressed an interest in learning it
at the land court.

Just wondering if it would be better to work on a period technique instead?
Perhaps raised work, or after 1580 to 1600, stump work (which really reached
its height of popularity in the 17th century).  Brazilian embroidery, which
uses rayon thread primarily, is very much a newcomer to the world of textile
arts.
