There's a book showing polyclay reproductions of jewelry from museum masterpieces:

Half-Price has several copies of it. The samples shown are often rather crude in 
workmanship (visible fingerprints, etc.), but the idea is cool, and the author has 
chosen some interesting pieces, including very early period stuff. Worth the money, 
if only as an idea-starter.
