[Bryn-gwlad] Last call for linen order

Holy cow, we're up to 41 yards... And this reminded me:
Seems like I heard someone mentioning a project for making Ansteorran
surcoats for Gulf Wars. Fabrics-store.com has 20-yard bolts of IL019 (5.3oz,
midweight, 59" wide) in several colors for $120 a bolt (= $6/yard plus
shipping). Is this an actual project that someone is in charge of, or just
an idea that was being floated? Twenty yards of 59" linen would make a lot
of really fabulous surcoats. It will not wear as well as something heavier
like trigger, of course, but I think it's actually pretty sturdy stuff for
its weight, it certainly is much cooler than trigger, it's more authentic,
and (just as a bonus) it's gorgeous stuff to sew. Any interest, anyone? They
do have both Black and Taxicab Yellow (looks just like it sounds), as well
as a duller Cadmium Yellow.
Also, we have 10 yards of white IL020 (3.5oz, lightweight, 59" wide) spoken
for. Anyone else interested in the perfect fabric for a smock, chemise,
undertunic, or veil? If there is interest, I'll go ahead and get a 20-yard
bolt of this too (same price, $120 for the bolt = $6/yard plus shipping),
and peddle the remaining 10 yards at PiP.
Keep that email coming! Remember, I'm ordering tonight. Cheers, --Lucia
