[Bryn-gwlad] Ancient Board Games - British Museum Press (fwd)

If I remember correctly, baronies are asked to provide gifts for the crown
to give to other crowns at Gulf Wars. Shires are asked to do the same for
Pennsic.

The barony decided to provide games as our gift for the next Gulf Wars.
Dreda is organizing the creation of the games. I believe it was decided to
use boxes instead of fabric or boards. I'm not sure which games were decided
on.

I have been making wooden game boards but find that they are heavier and
harder to pack than fabric ones. They also don't lend themselves to
spontaneous games because you can't carry them with you easily. I might
switch to fabric drawstring sets in the future when I finish my stock of
boards. If I make them so they can be drawn up into a pouch, I can hang it
from my belt and carry it with me instead of having to go back to camp to
get the board and stuff.

If you must play, decide on three things at the start: the rules of the
game, the stakes, and the quitting time.
