I can see where the demands of trying to host regular
tourneys can become tiresome. There is no problem
that needs repair in my opinion. The number of new
hands raised at court this year was tremendous. The
hospitaller and those who speak of the society to
newcomers has been incredible.
Part of the reasoning for my idea is this. We do not
plan pip as a demo. However, the first taste most
people get of the society is PIP.
Fighting is great and all. But if a person comes and
sees that 95% of the society is about fighting or
watching fighting, They may not become interested
enough to see that this is just the icing. They may
never see the pageantry, the arts, and the magic of
the society.
As a society, we potentially lose the interest of
those individuals. Individuals who may contribute
something that will make our society even greater than
it is.
Again, there is no real problem. This is simply an
idea on how we might push ourselves and the society
into something higher.
And I must look to myself for fault as well. I need
to stop being Brett the guy who throws on a monks robe
from time to time and become Goldweard the wandering
cleric who lives by his wits and does whatever he can
to honestly keep both his belly and his tankard full.
I feel that at PIP in the future Goldweard may be seen
more often than Brett.
Yours in Service
Goldweard
