[Bryn-gwlad] Candlemas costume planning

A needle (metal or bone) and thread (linen, cotton, wool or silk) would have been used depending on one's exact time and local and yes some people use this method, but many of us don't have the time required however ans more of our women work during the day and have fewer servants than our period counterparts :)

Just curious, can any of us say our clothing is truely period? I have no idea when sewing machines were invented and if they were around does anyone use what would have been period?
