[Bryn-gwlad] painting plastic canvas

That works well for painting on real cotton canvas. Even treated Sunforger. It 
might be possible to use something like the Krylon that is designed to bond to 
plastics to paint these plastic things. Personally, I think that a canvas tent 
is so much easier to deal with and live in but other people's mileage does 
indeed vary. I believe the Krylon for plastic is available in both a spray and 
liquid format.
