Salut cozyns,
Lord Charles replies to

with:
> With all due respect (and with the lecture deleted): get stuffed.> > I have also gone through sheildwalls on occasion, and under varied > conditions. I was making a tongue-in-cheek reference to the simple fact > that someone Uther's size finds it easier than someone mine (or yours).> > It didn't warrant such an insulting reply, Sir.
Looks like I need to clarify a few points:
1) I'm a Pelican, so some will tell you I'm already stuffed, in a manner of speaking.
2) Since Lord Charles admits that his reference was tongue-in-cheek, I'm guessing that a reply of "bollocks" is not what he found insulting.
3) So, possibly Charles thought the following was intended as an aspersion on his courage:
>>>>
It's not a simple matter of size, strength, or speed. It's a matter of reading the enemy, employing the correct tactics, and being willing to go at the right moment. Several of us can teach the first two skills. You have to find the third within yourself.
<<<<
I assure you, I meant these statements generally. I can teach a fighter to read a line. I can teach a fighter the various methods for charging a line. I cannot teach anyone to charge at the right moment. I have no reason to believe Charles lacks the resolve necessary to charge a line. I've seen him charge a line. His reference to bouncing off of shieldwalls further suggests his willingness.
4) I posted my response because I did not want anyone to take Charles' jest as judgment upon smaller fighters. Small stature and light weight are not obstacles to breaching a line; they're just indications of which methods to use.
5) With no insult intended, I disagree with Charles' assessment that "someone Uther's size finds it easier than someone mine (or yours)" to charge a shield wall.
Lo vostre per vos servir,En Lyonel
