Greetings lady Aubelin,

Your greetings and request did not get misinterpreted.  Both Daniel  
and I were playing off of a minor mis-spelling you made and combined  
that with some recent discussion on the Bryn Gwlad list you probably  
aren't aware of and doing a little persona play.

You said "Our little shire's ruins (Middleford) has left us with  
baron lands"  while you meant "barren" lands.

Not too long ago, our newly minted baron, Baron Avery, commented on  
the Bryn Gwlad list about how the gentles of Bryn Gwlad had "taken"  
Emerald Keep at their event, meaning that Bryn Gwlad folks had swept  
most of the competitions.  The Baron was advised to "give Emerald  
Keep" back.  Daniel and I were just playing off of your mis-spelling  
in a similar vein.

  I was hoping that my welcome to you, would come across to you that  
way and make you aware that the rest of my comments were mostly in  
jest, although the comments on the Western Region do reflect my  
personal opinions on how that situation was mis-handled.  I also do  
think it would be nice to have another intra-kingdom War event such  
as the Mustache War, which was held a few months after I joined the  
SCA almost 20 years ago.  It was a fun event, including all the war  
bantering which was meant to be taken in fun. It was a "war" between  
Bryn Gwlad and Steppes over mustaches, and if I'm remembering  
correctly, was, in fact, held in the Middleford/Tempio area.

My apologies if I offended you. I'm posting this on the list, just in  
case there are others there who didn't realize what was going on and  
to clarify that if they are upset about this, that it shouldn't  
include you.

I once again, say welcome to Bryn Gwlad and please come down and  
visit with us.
