[Bryn-gwlad] War company practice this sunday

We've had several shield building parties at my place for rhoadd, in the months before and after Gulf.

 

Most of the folks were able to build a complete shield in one night, including those who made their own 

Shield baskets, most also had time for a 2nd project like a half gauntlet.

 

If you get the parts you're welcome to come over and crank one out.

 

All of these are available at your local Lowes or Home Despot.

 

2'*4' birch plywood, around 11 lbs (use a fish scale and a clamp if you want to bother weighing it, otherwise just pick a light one)

2 8' aluminum uchannel for ½ in plywood. 

11' ¾" black plastic roll pile (also called flexible pvc and about 10 other things, It's near the heater hose, you might have to ask for help to get it by the foot instead of a 25' roll)

 

5 14" dia * 1" carriage bolts

5 ¼" hex nuts

5 ¼" lock washers.

 

If you're doing it at home you also need: 

One package of 1/8" nylon braided rope, or equivalent

1 shield basket

1 leather strap for arm.

i got a suprise on sunday my bro and i just went up east of waco and picked up his armour im going to pad it and do the chin strap and all but if i run out of time he might not have a sword and i know i cant put together a sheild that quickly or i would have one my self haha so if someone could bring and extra of each thatd be great hes really excited about fighting and i think he would eventually love to join the war company anyway see yall sunday
