Greetings Bryn Gwlad,
It takes many hands to pull off an event as magnificent as this
Candlemas/Investiture and Royal Huntsman was. Many of those in charge in
other areas will have to speak to those that assisted them so well.
However, as Captain of the Baronial Guard it is my privilege to call out
my guardsmen for their work, assistance and contributions to the events.
Guardsmen,
I would like to thank you all for your dedicated service to Bryn Gwlad.
Once again you showed what a valuable asset you are to this barony.
Colin, you did a wonderful job with the site coordination, please be
sure to tell Isabella that the hall looked magnificent.
Sophie, great job with the guard table for feast, it was beautifully
set! My officers, Wilhelm and Rurik did a fine job. Johan got pulled
for heraldic announcements several times. Goldweard was happily
available to fulfill more duties all day.
Thank you Navarre and Alfred for coming out of retirement for the whole
day and sharing duties with us. Thank you Dore' for coming out of
retirement to join us with the drum. You truly add to our impact.
And congratulations and welcome to our newest Candidate, Ragnhildr!
Including our three candidates, that brings us to 9 active guards!
We send our greatest gratitude to Lady Gabrielle de Cielle for all of
her hard work and long hours of gracious attention to our silent auction.
All day long the guard was everywhere. We unloaded vehicles, set up
thrones, moved furniture, set up pavilions, fetched, carried and
problem solved. After we were done we deconstructed, and took down and
packed up or loaded everything we could find.
Sunday our work continued.
Once again, all day long the guard was everywhere, doing everything. We
unloaded vehicles, set up thrones, moved furniture, set up and moved
pavilions, fetched, carried and problem solved. Then we filled in where
personnel was needed. After we were done we deconstructed, and took down
and packed up or loaded all we had done up before.
To those of you that went the extra mile and then some by all you did
with us on Sunday, you have my extra thanks and gratitude.
I know the weekend took it's toll on many of you so, rest up and get
well soon!
Thank you all,
Claire Shayhan
Captain
