[Bryn-gwlad] Recent Observations and Ponderings....

Greetings.....

I have been in the SCA since 1996.

I have seen events, Crowns, B&B's, groups, people, rules, fads, etc come
and go and even come back over the time I have been a participant in this
hobby.

As a rule, I am still a youngster in the Known World. There are some in
this barony who could be considered part of the SCA's "Greatest
Generation". So I speak only from my heart and my observations when I say
this....

The past months since the announcement of Baron Thomas's departure from
the seat of Bryn Gwlad through the process of the "Hat Race" for his
successors to the investiture held this weekend has been....

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!........

In the honor, courtesy, and friendship shown among the candidates, their
supporters and now how the Barony has moved together...as ONE (1), to
support our new Baron and Baroness of Bryn Gwlad...Baron Avery and
Baroness Gwenneth.

As human beings, we all have desires, opinions and loyalties to friends
and causes. It is a testament to the human spirit that we can divide to
support our friends and then combine to support as one, as has occurred in
this process.

The event was wonderful!, The step down and up inspiring and most of all....

I AM PROUD TO CALL BRYN GWLAD MY SCA HOME!!!!
