[Bryn-gwlad] OT-Job hunting

Recently, I've noticed several messages on this list and other SCA  
lists about people getting new jobs or getting laid off from their  
old jobs. I suspect that there are many more, such as myself, who are  
also looking.

After 22 years at Motorola/Freescale I got laid off in late 2004.  
Since then I've found myself looking several other times for new  
positions. The job market, especially the technical fields, and the  
job search has changed quite a lot in the past ten years. They are  
now saying that the average time someone will stay in a technical  
position is only three or four years.

Over the past few years I've learned a bit about job searching and  
about the job hunting resources available in this town. Offlist, I  
would be happy to point folks looking for a new job to these  
resources, offer advice on your resumes, etc. Much of this applies to  
non-technical as well as technical positions.
