Stainless tends to be slightly lighter for the same strength, and resists corrosion, but is a slightly different color than "real steel".

 

Cold rolled mild steel tends to be softer, and rusts, a lot, but does not have the color issues.

 

I think Stonekeep is the one with the satin finish that disguises the "stainless color" issue slightly,

 

But for me, the ease of maintenance, far out ways the color issue, and thus it comes down to a choice of cost.

I am considering purchasing a Norse helm from Stonekeep Armory and I wish to know the pros and cons of steel vs. stainless steel.
