That's probably because this is the first time in a *long* time that
the Democratic presidential race has been this close. In the past,
the candidate has been pretty well decided before the primaries ever
got to Texas, so caucuses didn't matter much.
That also explains why there were so few people at the Republican
caucuses--their candidate was pretty obvious before it ever got to
the Texas/Ohio primaries.
