[Bryn-gwlad] Checking In

Sadly, I didn't arrive till Thursday afternoon, and had to depart  Saturday morning, so I missed much of it. You'll want a better report  from others. I was told that we have pretty consistently dominated the  field this war, with only a few exceptions. We were defeated in the  Chivalric Champions Tourney, which came down to a very exciting glaive  duel to break a 7-7 tie. I understand that we also lost the Rapier  Champions Tourney, in a similar close match. We won all the other war  points as far as I am aware, at least up to the Saturday Fort Battle,  which I missed - it is a safe bet we probably won that one as well. 
  
  Most of the action I witnessed directly was in the "Open Field Battle"  on Friday - so I will pass along an anecdote from that one. Bryn Gwlad  was chosen to be the left flank in front, and we deployed out in front  of our main body. A bit like "Little Round Top" at the Battle  of  Gettysburg, our job was to grab a vital section up front, and hold at  all costs, which we did. 
  
  Bryn Gwlad did Ansteorra proud - after I'd been slain and was awaiting  the next reset, I overheard a Trimaran fighter ask "who are those  guys?". When told "Bryn Gwlad", he replied "Damn... those guys fight  hard". You can't ask for a finer compliment than one from your foe.
