A small fact. Battle of the Pines, despite the name, is a tourney
event. At least it was when I was living in Graywood. It's been
confusing people for twenty years.

I'm learning to divide my focus between killing the opponents in front of me and scanning the field for the bigger picture, but I need much more practice at this.

I am a warrior in service to the Barony and the Kingdom, not a mercenary for hire. This may seem like a subtle point to some but it is important to me and possibly to some others. The terms of that alliance may, of course, involve chocolate chip cookies. :)

That way all the Company members should be able to make one practice or the other and hopefully both. The date for the Sunday practice should be set each month based on the Kingdom calendar for a weekend with the least chance to conflict with Company members. I've already approached Sir Corwin and several other members of Rhoadd (Sp?) and they were very possitive about regular joint practices for the 2 units.

The core group which I'm calling the Regulars, would be expected to fight for BG at at least 2 of the 4 major melee events we attend per year, to practice with the company at least once per month, and while they may be associated with other melee groups/companies, that they fight with BG if both groups are fighting at the same event. The auxcillary group, which I call the Levy, would be for fighters with comittments to other units or who are a little less active. Members of the Levy would still be expected to attend one practice a month and to fight with the Company at at least one of the major melee events per year. Members of the Levy could fight with other groups on occasion, as long as they met their minimum commitment to the Company.
