Greetings unto those wishing to be part of the reformed Bryn Gwlad War
Company,

We have been listening and reading the discussions to see how people feel
about this, and we have reached a few conclusions after discussing with
Centurian Uther.. Below are what we are proposing to do for now to start.
These are not set in stone, but they are pretty close. We look forward to
further discussion, and more importantly, to the glory awaiting Bryn Gwlad
as we all take the field together!

In service,
Avery and Gwenneth
Baron and Baroness

1. There shall exist a chivalric fighting unit to be known as "The
Bryn Gwlad War Company." It shall be open to all persons who wish to
join, regardless of whether they are residents of the Barony of Bryn
Gwlad.

2. The livery of the Company shall remain the same as in its previous
incarnation: on the dexter side, argent, three bends sable each
charged with a halberd or, on the sinister side, or, in pale three
Ansteorran stars. Company members may wear a simple, long surcoat, or
they may adapt the design to match their persona and armour style.
Linen is the preferred fabric.

3. There shall be two levels of membership, the "Regulars" and the
"Auxilaries." (names subject to change, this is simply for working
through) The Regulars must participate in at least one of the two
official practices each month, and fight with the Company in at least
two of the four official melee events per year. Official practices
shall consist of one Tuesday night practice, on a regular date to be
determined, and one Sunday afternoon practice, on a date which shall
be chosen each month based on the Kingdom Calendar. Exceptions will
be granted for injury or illness, but the Regulars must be willing to
make the commitment, as regular practice is essential in the creation
of an effective fighting unit. The Auxilary shall consist of those who
wish to fight with the Company, but are unable, for whatever reason,
to meet the requirements for the Regulars.

4. In all conflicts between Ansteorra and other kingdoms, the Company
shall fight on the side of Ansteorra, unless the Crown requests
otherwise. In all intra-kingdom conflicts, the Baron and Baroness of
Bryn Gwlad shall be responsible for choosing sides and negotiating
treaties, with input from the commander.

5. The commander to start shall be Centurian Uther Blackthorne, under the
civilian direction of the Baron and Baroness of Bryn Gwlad. The
commander shall be responsible for all military decisions regarding
the Company, including the appointment of such subordinate officers as
he deems appropriate. The Baron and Baroness shall be free to offer
their opinions to the commander on all matters, and the commander
shall give such opinions due consideration. When the Baron and
Baroness fight as part of the Company, they shall be under the orders
of the commander. Future commanders shall be selected by the Baron
and Baroness as necessary, with the input of the members of the
Company.

6. If the rapier community (or equestrian community, etc.) of Bryn
Gwlad decides to form its own melee unit associated with Bryn Gwlad, said
unit will be independent of the Bryn Gwlad War Company, but will still
be under the civilian direction of the Baron and Baroness of Bryn
Gwlad. A similar name may be chosen, and a variation on the livery
may be used. Membership in one unit will neither preclude nor imply
membership in another.
