[Bryn-gwlad] War Company Heraldry

The first badge listed, "Gules, on a saltire Or two halberds sable, in chief a mullet of five greater and five lesser points argent" was registered to be the Bryn Gwlad war badge, though it has been a long time since we used it. It used to be attributed as the war badge in the Armorial (similar to the designation for the BG Guard badge), but seems to have lost that over time.

The second "no purpose stated" badge "(Fieldless) On a halberd's head reversed sable a mullet of five greater and five lesser points Or" is the populace badge and may be worn by any member of the Barony unless our leaders deem otherwise.

I do know the reason that the war badge is on a gules field (and the guard badge has a gules chief): B/B Varg's and Seanna's favorite colors were black and white (sable and argent). Their successors were trying to add additional colors to the Bryn Gwlad palette.

I do believe we went to war once long ago with the war badge, but honestly can't remember for sure. It's definitely a lot more complex than the populace badge. I think combining the BG populace badge with the Ansteorran populace badge would look really spiffy and is close to what the tabards currently use. Since the populace badge is fieldless, we can display it on either argent or Or.

Just an opinion. Sorry for the late response. I got behind on my correspondence due to illness.
