Also, I apparently was mistaken about that broken piece of hilt. I can't find it. If it shows up in the future, naturally, I will deliver it to whoever gets the knife.

Salut cozyns, As some of you know, I do a lot of cooking--especially a lot of fish. Now, after five years of none-too-gentle use, my Wüsthof Classic 6.5" santoku is just not keeping up. The blade needs to be sharpened by someone who knows how to sharpen a santoku (15 degree angle vice the 20 degree angle on most German blades). I would have taken the knife to be sharpened, but the added annoyance of the handle beginning to break up was more than I could take. So, I now have a brand Global santoku (all stainless steel, ultra-ultra-sharp and ultra light), and no place for the old Wüsthof.  I plan to give the old knife away, and I wanted to give my friends first refusal. The blade is still a damned fine piece of metal, will still take a razor edge, and the damage to the handle could be repaired. Brand new, this knife retails for $70.
