I, too, had some interesting bites, though I think most of mine were mosquito bites.  I didn't think to pack the bug spray.  I did have a couple of the type Daniel mentions on my thigh, but they didn't itch.  I guess my tolerance was higher.  It was the small ones that itched the worst and I'm 95% certain they were 'squito bites.  Except for the ones on my ankle rubbed by my work shoes, I'm no longer bothered by any of them, and those are fading now, too.
